SHORT POEMS ~ TALL COWBOYS
OUR TRIBUTE TO "THE COWBOY"
I am a professional Canadian artist who has recently completed a series of works entitled
“One for Each Day of the Week.” This succession of seven 30” X 40” acrylic paintings,
depicts the life of the cowboy, from the “Monday Cowboy”, with his fresh face all aglow,
to the "Sunday Cowboy", whose hair has turned to snow:
The study that went into "the boys" has led me to a truer appreciation of the character of
our Canadian cowboys. It has brought me to meet and to know many fine folk, as I have
grown to understand that a man’s word is sealed in a handshake, as he looks you right in
the eye. So today, it is with great respect and admiration that I present this peerless epic
of the cowboy. Tomorrow will see me continuing down this road for the sake of
immortalizing "him what cut our trail".
