An exposé on Amateur artists whose works in various mediums awaken the world. Local artists from a given area often reveal areas of landscapes, people, attitudes, cultures and more often than not unmask the very soul of a geographical area. This newspaper's intent is to give amateur artists a platform and a spotlight to showcase their works in a broader medium. To reveal their art to the world is for some, a chance to go from the unknown to perhaps, renown. The newspaper's intent is to expose the work of artists and crafters whose works would otherwise be subjected to a small market. With a wider exposure and a provincial wide distribution, these artists and crafters will be given the opportunity to expand their horizons and move their talents to a broader area network.

The Local Art Scene is Alberta's newest free newspaper which will enable businesses and the public to advertise in a paper which is created for them exclusively. The features of the paper will include all aspects of the Arts, which ever it may be. We are definitely steering towards giving ALL amateurs of all categories and all levels the chance to get involved, whether it be offering a private course on how to knit to selling homemade soaps. We hope to get everyone involved from dancing to the theatre, from music lessons to how to bake a cake. There are no limits on what is available to the public and we here at the Local Art Scene believe that society has a lot to offer and Alberta has an abundance of talent that needs to be discovered. Whether its your own talent or someone you know, we all have some creativity in us that needs to be shared with others. Come along and share your talents with us...you never know where it will take you!
